Cyberclimber Competition
Coming August 1-15, 2010
During these dates there will be a link in the left column for the Competition. It's free and there's no pre-registration. To join the Cyberclimber Competition, just and click a route. Your top 3 individual route scores will make up your final score. You can climb every route (15 of them plus a bonus route), or just the minimum 3. When you are ready to submit your score, enter your nickname and city and your score will be posted and ranked with the others. Or, you can keep climbing to try and improve your score.
You get points from three factors:
1) Routes are given a point value based on the level of difficulty.
2) You also get points by climbing efficiently. Climb quickly in the least number of moves to get the max points for the effeciency.
3) Finally, bad moves cause points to be deducted from your score.
When you finish a route you will see a summary of how you did. A "checkmark" will be placed next to the name of the route showing that you have completed it. If you make it into the top 3 scoring finishers, your nickname and city will be showcased on a digital trophy for all to see and marvel.

How to Play Cyberclimber:
Objective: Get to the top, don't fall. Improve your skill, try harder climbs
Start: Select a climbing wall. Click Select a Wall from the menu on your left
Move Arms or Legs: Click on a hold with your mouse
If the hold is "in reach" the closest limb will move to that hold
If the hold is "out of reach", no limb will move and you will get a "bad move" counted against you
Shift Body Position: Use the buttons at the top of the page to shift left, right, up, or down. By moving limbs and shifting you will be able to work your way up the wall
Bad Moves: You get 5 bad moves, then you fall
Reach too far. If you attempt to reach too far, you will get a "bad
move" counted against you
Crossing. You may not move the left hand or foot to the right side of the body, or visa-versa
Shift Body Position. You may not shift if it would result in any limb reaching too far, or crossing
Finish: Each climb must finish with two hands at the top (one on each hold)
