How To Turn on JavaScript

To turn on JavaScript, follow the directions below. Each browser has a way to enable JavaScript, usually found in the options or preferences menu. It only takes a few seconds to turn it on, and your JavaScript can easily be turned off again when done.

How to turn on JavaScript

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, 6.x, 7x

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu
  2. Click the Security tab
  3. Click Custom Level in Security Level for this Zone
  4. Scroll down to Scripting, near the bottom of the list
  5. Under Active Scripting, choose Enable
  6. Click OK to leave Security Settings.
  7. Click OK to leave Internet Options (See the picture to the right)
  8. Close your browser and restart it

Macintosh Internet Explorer 4.x, 5.x

  1. Choose Preferences under the Edit menu
  2. Click Web Content under Web Browser
  3. In Active Content, check the box next to Enable scripting
  4. In Java, click Enable Java. Click OK
  5. Close your browser and restart it

Safari for Macintosh

  1. Select Safari from the menu bar and click on Preferences
  2. Click on the Security icon
  3. Click on checkbox next to Enable JavaScript
  4. Close that window
  5. Close this window
  6. Click the Reload button

Enable Javascript Foxfire Opera

  1. From the File menu select Preferences
  2. Select Multimedia
  3. Check the box labeled Enable JavaScript
  4. Push OK
  5. Reload the current page


  1. Click Tools
  2. Click Options
  3. Web Features
  4. Select the button for Javascript (See the picture to the right)
  5. Close your browser and restart it

Mozilla (Windows)

  1. Select Edit from the menu bar
  2. Click on Preferences
  3. Click on plus sign next to Advanced to show options
  4. Click on Scripts & Plugins
  5. Click on the checkbox next to Navigator under Enable JavaScript
  6. Click the OK button
  7. Close this window
  8. Click the Reload button
